Icon Contest: Challenge 2 Up!

Since we have 24 members, and I know of quite a few of us who make graphics, I figured that it was time to put up the icon contest! I'm not sure we'll get a lot of entries, so even if you don't think your icons are very good, I encourage you to send them in. (Because they're probably not as bad as you think!)

Challenge #2: Team Spirit

You know you love the lame challenge names. For this challenge, your icon must be of a certain team from Naruto. It's definitely not limited to the Rookie Nine, you can use the Sand Siblings, the Sannin, or Kakashi's old team, as long as all three team members are somehow present in the icon. The team leader doesn't need to be in the icon, since icons get pretty crowded easily, but you can include him/her if you want. =)

Since this is one of our first icon contests, the deadline will be extended. Please send in your icons by midnight on Sunday, June 3rd. (Saturday night.)

Now for some general rules:

1. Your icons cannot be larger than 100 x 100 pixels
2. You can submit up to four icons per challenge.
3. Do not vote for yourself.
4. Do not encourage other members to vote for yourself, or tell someone which icon is yours. This is an icon contest, not a popularity contest!
5. Don't use your icon or make your icon public (whether on DAU or on a private iconjournal) until after the contest is over.
6. All icons that you enter must be your own.


To Submit: Send me a PM with the title "Icon Contest Submission" or something similar, containing both the icon and the URL of the icon.

Yep. It's really annoying, IMO. Like, no Selective Coloring or Curves.

But theres a lot of tutorials out there that don't use those techniques, and are transferable ;D

I can predict the four icons going down to two once the forum gets more graphic makers. Also, I have a suggestion that was placed on DH.

Perhaps make an account or something and save the winners of the past contest and then archive them here on DAU? Just an idea.

Para's predictions are awesome. Once we get a good number of graphic-makers who enter the contests, the icon limit will be two and the time limit will be one week. I'm just worried about not getting enough submissions. =P

And that's an awesome idea. I'll just save the winning icons in an album on my PhotoBucket account and archive them in a stickied topic in the Contests board? Does that sound good?

Yes. That's fine. The challenge should also be placed. That way it's not like "random icon #394820948 won 2nd place". Ya know? So they can see what the challenge was. Like when members look at them and see my someone's icon that won 1st in this challenge, they'll see the challenge was "joy."

Thanks a lot for the suggestion; I'm really glad you asked before the contest started. Or else I probably would've been like "...lol these old icons are taking up lots of space. Delete!"

I either improvise, or look for Elements specific tutorials (if I had any bookmarked I'd post them. Sorry ><). Or I make it up.

Okay. Firstly, I hate just having Photoplus as my workshop. Does anyone know of a good workshop that's free?

And secondly, do they have to be our own? Can we find them off of Photobucket or google?
